| With regard to short interest reporting, NYSe Rule 421 states all customer and propriety accounts must be reported. Do the monthly NYSE short interest data include omnibus accounts? |

| Yes, omnibus accounts are included in short interest reporting and the short interest file. Omnibus accounts are accounts through which a broker-dealer executes trades on behalf of all its customers. So, rather than having separate accounts for each of its customers, a broker-dealer, usually an introducing broker-dealer, will have one account in which it executes and clears all transactions. |
