Iam seeing spoty multicast Our feedhandler joins the ARCA production multicast groups both Primary & Secondary. Our app receives the feed for about 5 secs & then there's a silence for about 25 secs. this cycle repeats on all the groups like clockwork. we use SFTI Our network team is investigating this. I wanted to know if anyone has had similar problems in the past & if so how did they resolve it. thanks for your help. |

| Try to use one feed only and see if it helps. |

It sounds like your router igmp timer values are set incorrectly. I have seen this in my lab net when someone has modified the igmp snooping timer values and the counters for the head of the mcast tree is not set correctly in relation with the timers at the leaves of the mcast tree.
The result is that perioidically the hosts at the leaves of the tree get dropped from the mcast group and then get readded periodically. It is a clever way to test your retransmission code. |
