European Consolidated Equities OTC Trades Initiative

NYSE Technologies, the commercial technology unit of NYSE Euronext, will make Markit BOAT post-trade data available alongside NYSE Euronext’s Over-The-Counter (OTC) post-trade data, in a single, normalised format.

The core offering will be an OTC post-trade data feed, covering more than 80% of the European OTC equities market in a single, normalised format. The data feed will also deliver analytics field content calculating totals, highs and lows per instrument, taking into account the multiple sources of data contributing to the feed.

The data feed will be launched from NYSE Euronext’s new European liquidity centre outside London and will be available to clients as a co-located offering, via the Secure Financial Transaction Infrastructure® (SFTI®) network. The feed will also be available via any extranets or vendors who choose to redistribute the data. A low cost internet-delivered product will also be offered in early 2011.

The Audience:

  • Buy-side clients needing to have a clear view of growing OTC trading activity in a single product and format.
  • Data vendors wishing to offer a full picture of all market activity across Regulated Markets, Multilateral Trading Facilities (MTFs) and OTC.
  • Sell-side and high frequency clients wishing to integrate seamlessly OTC post-trade data with high performance data which they already receive via NYSE Technologies’ solutions.

This product is designed to address key challenges in current solutions including:

  • Consistency and Quality - clients will receive timely data in a consistent format and both Markit BOAT and NYSE Technologies will work with data originators to continuously improve data quality and performance.
  • Cost - the feed will be offered without any additional licence margin on top of NYSE Technologies’ and Markit BOAT’s existing offerings.
  • Integration with Additional Data Sets - in addition, to welcoming other content originators to this initiative, NYSE Technologies feed handler technology can be used to manage integration with other sets, which will enable clients to deploy seamlessly the offering into production.

Consultation on Specification:

The proposed European Consolidated Equities OTC Trades Consultation Client Specification is available in the specifications field below. It has been made available for consultation purposes only and we encourage interested parties to submit feedback on its content to OTCEurope@nyx.com. Consultation on the market data format will run until early August, and the product build will commence thereafter.
